CTA approves request from Air Transat to operate Aruba flights

Air Transat has obtained a licence from the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) to operate a scheduled international service between Canada and Aruba.

In a decision posted April 21, the CTA stated that it is satisfied that Air Transat meets all applicable requirements set out in the Canada Transportation Act as well as in the bilateral agreement between the Government of Canada and the Kingdom of the Netherlands regarding Aruba.

The licence therefore authorizes Air Transat to operate scheduled international services (large aircraft) on the routes covered by this agreement.

The licence is also subject to the usual conditions, including those set out in the Air Transportation Regulations.

Starting December 12

Air Transat will operate one flight per week to Oranjestad, Aruba (AUA) from Montreal, starting December 12, 2026. 

The airline will also add Bridgetown, Barbados (BGI), and San José del Cabo, Mexico (SJD) to its upcoming winter Montreal schedule.
