CTA approves Flair’s request to operate flights to Guatemala

The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has green lit a license for Flair Airlines to operate scheduled international flights between Canada and Guatemala.

The decision was posted on the CTA’s website on February 6.

The CTA notes that it is “satisfied” with Flair meeting all the applicable requirements to operate flights to the destination, stating that all terms and conditions of the arrangement have been met.

Flair’s intentions for Guatemala aren’t publicly known just yet.

The news comes as the airline proceeds with its Flair FWD strategy, which includes the launch of Flair Vacations, and as it welcomes a new CEO, Len Corrado, who will take the helm on February 9 as Maciej Wilk moves on as part of a defined transformation phase.

In a statement Monday (Feb. 9), Corrado, former president of Sunwing Airlines, said Flair has made “meaningful progress over the past several years, and the momentum is clear.”

“I’m excited to join an airline on the rise, to work alongside the team, and to build on the strong foundation already in place. I look forward to working with my team to drive the next stage of growth together,” he said.
