Costa Rica's Liberia International Airport reopens

The Costa Rica Tourism Board has confirmed that Liberia International Airport resumed full operations at 9 a.m. local time on Wednesday (Nov. 20).
Located in in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, the airport, also known as Daniel Oduber Quirós, had an earlier-than-expected reopening after the successful completion of runway maintenance.
Passengers affected are asked to check flight schedules with their airline directly for the most current updates.
Operations at the airport were suspended on Tuesday (Nov. 19) due to the urgent need for runway repairs, as well as heavy rains and floods brought on by Tropical Storm Sara, which battered parts of Central America last week.
