Cirium: Toronto Pearson among top five most connected airports in NA

Toronto Pearson airport (YYZ) may not rank high in customer satisfaction, but it at least wins points for connectivity.

Aviation analytics company Cirium recently analyzed the most connected airports in North America in 2024, and Toronto Pearson made the top five (unsurprisingly, YYZ is also the best-connected airport in Canada).

Cirium’s list highlights North American airports that offer the most direct flights. Chicago O'Hare (ORD) tops the table, with 270 destinations served, of which 195 are domestic, and 75 are international.

This is a busy hub for United Airlines, which flies the most internationally among U.S.-based carriers., Cirium notes.

Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) ranks a close second, followed by Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL), Denver International (DEN), Toronto Pearson (YYZ), Miami International (MIA) and Los Angeles International (LAX) and New York John F. Kennedy International (JFK) airports.

The most connected airport in the world is Istanbul Airport, with 309 destinations served, Cirium says.
