CanJet Vacations appoints John Kirk to executive team as launch approaches

As CanJet Vacations prepares for launch, the company has announced a new appointment to its executive team.

Travel industry veteran John Kirk is taking on the role of vice-president, sales and marketing, effective Monday, Aug. 18.

"John has extensive experience in sales, distribution and e-commerce and will lead all of these initiatives for CanJet Vacations," the company says in a release.

Kirk joins the CanJet team from Porter Escapes where he acted as director, vacations and packaged products. Prior to that, he held the position of senior vice-president, retail and e-commerce for Thomas Cook North America.

CanJet Vacations will be launching sales later this month and says that Vice-President and General Manager Robbie Goldberg has "been busy with all the necessary preparations" to hit the market with a "world-class product." Other CanJet Vacations’ team members in the Toronto office location include Krystal Langenberg (sales), Josee Girard (product) and Shirley Lawson (product).

“We are very excited about the talented team we have assembled to lead CanJet Vacations through its start-up phase and prepare the company for future growth,” says Chris Kelly, CanJet’s vice-president of business development who is overseeing the CanJet Vacations business. “We will have everything needed for an unforgettable travel experience including luxurious four-star+ hotels, a proven vacation airline in CanJet Airlines, and we will be committed to exceptional service throughout our guests’ journey. Our goal is to redefine how Canadians travel.”
