Arajet joins Latin American & Caribbean Air Transport Association
Dominican Republic-based low-cost carrier Arajet has joined the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA).
"We are pleased to welcome Arajet to ALTA. Its focus on democratizing air transport and its commitment to sustainability is an example of what this sector can provide to Latin America and the Caribbean. This region does not have other equally efficient and safe means of transport, it is widely benefited in job creation, and opportunities for millions of people every time a plane lands in a locality. We are sure that your participation will be key to continuing to drive growth and connectivity in Latin America and the Caribbean,” said José Ricardo Botelho, executive director and CEO of ALTA, in a statement.
Arajet launched its operations in Canada last year with direct flights from Toronto and to Santo Domingo, later adding routes to Punta Cana.
One of Arajet's main value propositions is "the skies democratization,” which they promote by offering accessible fares and opening new routes that connect the Americas.
“Belonging to ALTA is being part of the largest aviation network from our continent, which fills us with pride and opens a range of synergy opportunities with the industry to continue growing and providing the best world-class service to all our passengers," said Víctor Pacheco, CEO, and founder of Arajet, in a statement.
On its second anniversary, the airline has managed to connect Santo Domingo with more than 23 destinations in 16 countries.
In addition, Arajet has been recognized as the best new airline in the world at the CAPA 2023 awards.
