Amazon Destinations launches

Amazon has expanded its travel offerings with the launch of Amazon Destinations, a new site catering to travellers looking to directly book weekend getaways through the online retail giant.

The site launched last week as an expansion of the Amazon Local portal, with current offers for getaways centred around New York, Seattle and Los Angeles. While Amazon Local has previously offered discounts on hotel stays among its product offerings, Destinations will feature published rates as well as any discounts or specials offered by the properties, according to reports.
