Air Transat updates fare classes for domestic & U.S. flights
Air Transat has made changes to its fare classes on new bookings starting August 8 – specifically for domestic and U.S. flights.
The company told PAX that the objective is to align with the conditions of its competitors in the market.
The airline’s Eco Standard fare class no longer includes checked baggage on domestic and U.S. routes. Other changes to fare classes are also being implemented.
Only the Eco Flex, Club Standard, and Club Flex fare classes still include checked baggage, with one bag included for Eco Flex and two bags included for Club Standard and Club Flex, according to the policy.
The airline notes that there are no changes to checked baggage inclusions for groups and passengers with a Transat package.
If a change is made to the original booking after Aug. 8, 2024, the new terms and conditions in place at the time of the change will apply
The company has announced the removal of modification fees in Club and Club Standard. Only the fare difference applies, if applicable. As well, no modifications are permitted within 24 hours of departure.
On refunds, cancellation fees will now be charged per person, per direction, and no longer per ticket:
- Economy and Eco Standard: fee of $125 per person/ per direction
- Club and Club Standard: fee of $50 per person / per direction
No refunds will be offered within 24 hours of departure. And refunds will be issued according to the method of payment on file if the cancellation is made by the customer, even in the event of force majeure.
If a change is made to the original booking after Aug. 8, 2024, the new terms and conditions in place at the time of the change will apply.
