Air France previews new business class menu at TIFF

Air France shared a preview of its upcoming culinary creations for business class on flights departing from Canada over the weekend at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) – with its Canadian ‘Chef Signature’ Olivier Perret present.

Come November 1, Chef Perret will curate all four main dishes offered in business class from all Canadian gateways to Paris. The chef’s current contribution, which consists of vegetarian and poultry options, will now include these meat and fish gourmet meals, including:

  • Pike-perch fillet, Saint-Germain cream, leek fondue, and fennel seeds.
  • Canadian lobster, bisque and tarragon risotto, roasted corn. with maple syrup and edamame beans.
  • Roasted salmon fillet with wild sumac, pearl barley with squid ink, arugula pesto and samphire.
  • Beef cheek, red wine demi-glace sauce, carrots and glazed onions.
  • Shoulder of veal confit, macaroni, morels, broccoli gratin with artisan cheese.
  • Braised pork shoulder, savory infusion, glazed vegetable jardinière and roasted porcini with maple.

Originally from Burgundy, Olivier Perret is the chef at Renoir restaurant at the Sofitel Montréal Golden Square Mile hotel.

He is a member of the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France organization, a Maple Ambassador, and a member of the Académie Culinaire de France.

"Having lived in Montreal for many years, I want to take Air France customers on a culinary journey with my cuisine, combining French gastronomy with fresh ingredients from Quebec and Canada," said Chef Perret in a statement.

These new meal options will be introduced at the beginning of the winter season, coinciding with the addition of three extra flights on the Toronto-Paris route, bringing the total to 10 flights per week compared to seven during winter 2023-2024.

Air France continues its partnership with TIFF for its ninth consecutive year.

To highlight the collaboration, the airline is present at the heart of the Lightbox headquarters bringing Air France elegance to the TIFF Founders Lounge which hosts industry professionals as well as festival’s enthusiasts.

Air France is also an official sponsor of TIFF's Discovery program which features debut and sophomore films from emerging filmmakers showcasing the best of contemporary international cinema.

Cinema is now an integral part of the Air France experience.

In all long-haul cabins, passengers can enjoy cinema year-round 36,000 individual screens. With 1,500 hours of in-flight entertainment, including a diverse selection of award-winning French films and international movies, Air France aims to cater to the tastes and cultures of all its customers.

Most films are available in their original versions, ensuring an authentic viewing experience.
