Air France launches Paris Stopover packages for connecting passengers

Air France is giving connecting passengers a new reason to spend more time in France.

Starting now, customers booking eligible flights can extend their layover in Paris and purchase a curated stopover package through Extime Travel, allowing them to explore the French capital and nearby attractions before continuing their journey.

Available on either the outbound or return portion of a trip, the new Paris Stopover program offers customizable itineraries ranging from one to four nights.

Packages can include airport transfers, accommodation and sightseeing experiences, with options tailored to the length of each stopover and travellers' interests.

The initiative is designed to simplify the experience for passengers with long connections by providing end-to-end support from Extime Travel.

According to a study published by the Pégase Chair in April 2026, 81 per cent of travellers connecting through Paris said they were somewhat or very interested in leaving the airport to explore Paris or attractions near Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport during their layover.

Interest was even higher among Brazilian travellers (92.3 per cent) and Indian travellers (90 per cent), following the removal of France's airport transit visa requirement for Indian nationals in April 2026.

The initial lineup of packages includes a "Paris Must-See" experience, featuring visits to landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre Museum, as well as a Disneyland Paris option aimed at families.

Air France said the offering will be expanded with additional premium experiences, along with cultural, culinary and festive excursions.

The airline and Extime Travel also plan to promote destinations in the areas surrounding Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Each package includes transfers, one or more nights at selected four- or five-star hotels in central Paris or at Disneyland Paris, along with a selection of activities that can be customized based on travellers' schedules and preferences.

The launch marks another step in the Connect France strategic partnership signed in June 2025 by Air France-KLM and Groupe ADP.

The partnership aims to strengthen Paris-Charles de Gaulle's position as an international hub while showcasing Paris and France as leading tourism destinations.

Air France said Paris-Charles de Gaulle becomes the first major European hub to offer a dedicated tourism experience for connecting passengers between flights.

The Paris Stopover program is available to eligible Air France customers travelling in all cabins, including Economy, Premium, Business and La Première.

Packages can be booked through Extime Travel up to 48 hours before departure, subject to availability.

The offer is available to passengers who book an Air France ticket with the Stopover option and have a minimum connection time of 27 hours.
