Air Canada's Toronto-Delhi service takes flight

Air Canada launched its new Toronto-Delhi service last night, inaugurating the only non-stop flight between Canada and the Indian subcontinent.
The new flight is also the carrier’s first service dedicated for its new Boeing 787-9 series of aircraft and according to Duncan Bureau, Air Canada’s vice-president of global sales, the buzz surrounding the new service resulted in an oversold inaugural flight.
“There’s lots of excitement from the national Indian community and we’re really happy,” Bureau told PAX. “We’re really looking forward to getting everyone to India. We’ve been waiting for years to get the right aircraft to fly to India and now that we have it, we’re very excited.”
The service will operate four-times-weekly at first, going to daily in 2016. The Dreamliner offers three-cabin service with such features as next generation lie-flat seats in International Business Class, a Premium Economy cabin, and enhanced seatback In-Flight Entertainment system available at every seat throughout the aircraft.
