Air Canada’s Mark Nasr named to Canada’s Top 40 Under 40
Air Canada’s Mark Nasr has been named a recipient of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award for 2026, recognizing achievement, leadership and community contributions among Canadians under the age of 40.
Nasr serves as Air Canada’s executive vice-president and chief operations officer, overseeing the airline’s safe, reliable and efficient operations across its global network.
His portfolio includes flight operations, the System Operations Control Centre, maintenance and engineering, airports, in-flight service, contact centres, international operations, crew planning and scheduling, regional express carriers, and onboard cabins and systems.
“Mark’s recognition as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 is a fitting tribute to the breadth of his accomplishments and the impact he has had on Air Canada. From leading the transformation of Aeroplan into Canada’s premier loyalty program, to advancing our digital capabilities, customer experience, product strategy and global brand, Mark has consistently combined vision, innovation and disciplined execution,” said Vagn Sørensen, chair of Air Canada’s board of directors, in a statement.
“In his current role, he brings that same energy and focus to engaging with and supporting our frontline colleagues, while keeping the needs of customers and the communities we serve at the centre of our decisions. Mark is an exceptional leader, and we are proud to see his achievements recognized nationally.”
Before taking on his current position, Nasr served as executive vice-president, marketing and digital and president of Aeroplan.
In that role, he oversaw Air Canada’s products, services and customer amenities, along with the airline’s brand, marketing communications and commercial sponsorships. He also led its global technology portfolio, including IT, data and digital.
Nasr played a key role in the recent launch of Air Canada’s Glowing Hearted brand experience, including the airline’s next generation of aircraft interiors, which debuted aboard the Airbus A321XLR and will be introduced across the fleet in the coming years.
The same design approach is also being applied to Air Canada’s lounges, check-in areas, service standards, website and mobile app.
Nasr’s team also spearheaded the rollout of fast, free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan members and enhancements to amenities across Air Canada’s cabins, including premium snacks and complimentary wine and beer on every flight.
He also oversaw ongoing cabin upgrades across the airline’s North American fleet.
