Air Canada once again ranks first in on-time performance: Cirium
For the second consecutive month, Air Canada has ranked first among North American carriers for on-time performance (OTP), according to aviation analytics company Cirium, releasing its June data on Wednesday (July 9).
Last month, more than 77 per cent of Air Canada’s flights arrived on time, the figures show.
“These results speak to the hard work of our dedicated employees to keep our customers moving safely and on schedule,” Air Canada wrote on its LinkedIn page. “Our ongoing multi-pronged strategy to improve our on-time performance is working, with our customers benefitting from more consistent schedule reliability.”
The airline added that its OTP is up more than 20 percentage points over June 2023.

During the month of June, Air Canada operated a total of 33,473 flights, with a completion factor of 97.96 per cent, Cirium’s data shows. The airline also ranked first in OTP in May.
The updates represent key progress for Air Canada, which had long been a regular fixture at the bottom of Cirium's monthly rankings.
In the same North American category, rival WestJet, in June, ranked seventh in OTP, with a completion rate of 98.76, Cirium reports. The Calgary-based airline flew a total of 18,190 flights that month.
Coming in second to Air Canada in OTP was Spirit, while Delta ranked third. Of the top ten North American airlines, America Airlines ranked last.
Globally, the most on-time airline in June was Saudia, followed by Aeromexico and Brazilian carrier Azul, Cirium says.
Iberia, Spain’s flag carrier, ranked last in Cirium’s top ten ranking for global on-time performance.
