Air Canada launches $9 downtown Montreal airport shuttle with service to YUL

Air Canada has expanded its partnership with The Landline Company with the launch of the Air Canada City Shuttle, a new motorcoach service linking downtown Montreal with Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).

The shuttle, which started Monday (July 13), connects the Palais des congrès de Montreal and YUL for $9 one way, plus applicable taxes, offering travellers a lower-cost alternative to taxis and ride-sharing services.

The shuttle is designed to provide a faster and more predictable journey to the airport by using dedicated high-occupancy vehicle lanes and a private airport entrance.

According to Air Canada, the route can save travellers up to 25 minutes during peak travel periods compared with using standard airport access roads.

“The Air Canada City Shuttle gives our customers a faster, more predictable way to travel between downtown Montréal and the airport,” said Ranbir Singh, director, regional airlines and markets, at Air Canada, in a press release.

“Our customers can now bypass traffic and avoid waiting in taxi lines. By combining frequent downtown service and faster, more direct access to YUL, we are making it easier for them to connect to Air Canada’s global network.”

How it works

The service will operate 37 daily departures, timed to connect with Air Canada's flight schedule.

From downtown Montréal, shuttles depart from the Palais des congrès, where passengers have access to a dedicated waiting area before boarding. Service runs every 15 minutes during the morning peak from 4:45 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., then every 30 minutes until 9 p.m.

Passengers travelling from Montréal-Trudeau can board at Door 7 on the Departures level after collecting their luggage. Departures operate every 15 minutes from 5:15 a.m. to 6:45 a.m., then every 30 minutes until the final departure at 10 p.m.

Customers can pre-book their trip or board on a space-available basis.

“With the summer season officially beginning, ADM Aéroports de Montréal wishes to commend its partner Air Canada for the introduction of this new shuttle service linking YUL Montréal–Trudeau Airport to the Montréal convention centre,” said Jerome Conraud, vice-president, strategy, planning, and sustainability at ADM.

“Pending the commissioning of the REM station and new drop-off areas, which will help address congestion at the airport, this initiative will provide passengers with an additional transportation option that will be simple, fast, and integrated into their travel experience.”

In the event of a shuttle delay, Air Canada customers with a connection time of at least 95 minutes will be offered complimentary flight rebooking options (subject to availability).

The service uses Quebec-built Prevost motorcoaches operated by Quebec-based Autobus Galland.

Each coach features 48 reclining leather seats with extra legroom, power outlets and onboard washrooms.
