Air Canada landed more flights on time in March: Cirium

Air Canada improved its on-time performance in March, getting more passengers to their final destinations on schedule, according to new data from Cirium.
The aviation analytics company, sharing its monthly on-time performance report, said Air Canada landed 75.60 per cent of its 32,030 flights on time last month.
By comparison, the airline got 59.97 per cent of its 28,022 February flights to their destinations on time.
Cirium defines a late flight as one that lands 15 minutes or more past its scheduled arrival time.
When compared to the top ten airlines in Canada and the U.S., Air Canada placed eighth on Cirium’s monthly list, just ahead of Frontier Airlines, which landed 74.82 per cent of its 19,885 flights on time.
The rankings show Air Canada finishing just behind JetBlue, which landed 77.42 per cent of its 28,090 flights on time to place seventh in the rankings.
The top three spots in March went to Delta Air Lines (82.80 per cent of 151,038 flights on time), United Airlines (82.53 per cent of 146,061 flights on time) and Spirit Airlines (81.66 per cent of 21,572 flights on time).
Both Air Canada and WestJet performed poorly in February, landing in the bottom two spots for on-time performance.
WestJet, for reasons that are unclear, did not appear in Cirium’s list for March.
