Air Canada extends complimentary beer & wine to sun routes

Customers flying south with Air Canada this winter are in for a surprise – the airline has extended its complimentary wine, beer and premium snack offering to its sun routes.

The option was quietly added to the carrier's Mexico and Caribbean network on September 1. Previously, the inflight service was only available on Air Canada's domestic and U.S. flights.

Nino Montagnese, vice-president at Air Canada Vacations (ACV), confirmed the news with PAX on Monday (Sept 8) in an interview about ACV’s upcoming winter season.

“It’s a value-added perk,” he said. “It’ll give Air Canada Vacations customers a surprise and delight because they booked, not knowing it was there,” he said.

Air Canada’s complimentary beers include Hop Valley and Creemore Springs Premium Lager, as well as Molson Canadian and Coors Light. Two French wines from Paul Mas include a red and white.

The airline is also now serving Heineken 0.0, a non-alcoholic beer. Spirits and other wines will continue to be available for purchase.
