Air Canada adds Toronto-Guatemala City, drops Montreal-Guadalajara: report

Air Canada is reportedly adding a new route between Toronto and Guatemala City this winter while removing a previously filed Montreal-Guadalajara service from its 2027 schedule.  

According to an Aug. 19 schedule update published by Aeroroutes, Air Canada has opened reservations for a new once-weekly service between Toronto Pearson airport (YYZ) and La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City.

The route is scheduled to launch Dec. 1, 2026, as part of Air Canada’s winter 2026-27 schedule. 

The addition expands Air Canada’s winter connectivity between Toronto and Central America.

Meanwhile, Air Canada has removed a previously listed route between Montreal and Guadalajara, Mexico, from its schedule, Aeroroutes also reports.

The Montreal-Guadalajara service had appeared as part of the airline's default schedule filing for 2027, with flights previously scheduled to begin June 1, 2027.

Air Canada had filed plans to operate the route three times weekly.
