Air Asia cockpit voice recorder found by divers

Divers with Indonesia’s national search and rescue agency have now recovered the cockpit voice recorder from the crash site of Air Asia Flight QZ8501, a day after the aircraft’s flight data recorder was found by crews.

According to a report by Indonesian search-and-rescue agency BASARNAS, the cockpit voice recorder was found on the ocean floor not far from where the flight data recorder was recovered yesterday.

Both devices have been turned over to Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee for further investigation into the cause of the crash, which took place Dec. 28 while the craft was flying between Borneo and Sumatra.
