Agents join GlobalCare 365 for open house event

As part of efforts to reach out to the Canadian travel industry, GlobalCare 365 hosted an open house for potential agency partners last evening to share details about its unique service.

The company - a division of HealthCare 365 - is a healthcare management service for travellers, connecting Canadians with its team of doctors and nurses for coaching and consult on any medical issue, before, during and after they travel.

CEO Skip Schwarz shared key messages with attendees, emphasizing that their service should not be confused with travel insurance.

"Where insurance follows the money, we follow the patient," he said.

As reported in PAXnews.com last week, GlobalCare 365 offers peace of mind to travellers by collecting medical records and providing them to hospitals or clinics abroad - either directly or via the patient - should a situation arise.

Schwartz said that corporate travellers make up a large portion of its clientele at the moment, though among those who could consider purchasing any of the three package options available are:

- Snowbirds

- Backpackers or adventure travellers

- Boomers, who are of the demographic that is travelling now more than ever with chronic conditions

In any case, should there be a need to visit a hospital or clinic, GlobalCare ensures they have proper documentation of their medical history, which in turn, allows for better care while in-destination.

The company will also liase with a traveller's insurance company, provide follow-up recommendations upon a client's return home, and arrange a visit to one's family doctor at home, if need be.
