ACTA names new president

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) has appointed Wendy Paradis as the next president of the organization, effective May 9.

With over 30 years' experience in the travel, tourism and association service industries, Paradis most recently served as senior vice-president of OTEC (Ontario Tourism Education Corporation). During her nine years at OTEC, she led business development and client services teams in their execution of building high performing, customer-centric organizations for business leaders. Paradis has also been an integral part to several tourism destination clients looking to build out strategies and training programs that ensure the visitor experience is aligned with the destination's brand promise.

Paradis has also held several leadership positions where she led the strategic initiatives within top travel organizations including Eaton's Travel, Marlin Travel, The Thomas Cook Group and CAA Travel.

“I have deep respect for the important role travel agencies play in creating exceptional experiences for Canadian travellers, and look forward to working closely with the ACTA team, board of directors and members across the country to continue building a vibrant and successful Canadian Travel Agency community,” Paradis said.
