The Travel Agent Next’s Door’s 2024 “Trailblazers” conference and 10-year anniversary celebration was an event of epic proportions.

Held from June 2-9 in the Middle Eastern country of Jordan, the exciting event – which participants have called “epic,” “extraordinary” and “eye opening” – involved nearly 300 travel industry professionals (227 agents, 37 supplier reps and 20 TTAND staff) and took place at three different hotels.

The week, sponsored by G Adventures, the Jordan Tourism Board and Royal Jordanian Airlines, started off like most conferences: with supplier presentations, business workshops, one-on-ones, and training seminars.

But half-way in, everything transitioned to an adventure through ancient Jordan, with visits to the archaeological city of Petra, Wadi Rum desert (known for its dramatic sandstone mountains), and Aqaba, a coastal city on a gulf.

There was even a focus on community tourism as attendees visited two of G’s local Planeterra projects.

Securing an exclusive interview location in Petra, directly in front of The Treasury – a rock-cut monument that historians believe was built as a mausoleum and crypt at the beginning of the 1st century AD – we spoke to Flemming Friisdahl, founder of The Travel Agent Next Door, to learn more about his mega conference.
