Travel Counsellors receives royal recognition
More than 200 employees of Travel Counsellors gathered in the U.K. recently, to mark the official presentation of the company’s Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its continued growth and overseas expansion.
The event was broadcast live via the company’s in-house TCTV webcast system, which ensured its global family of over 1,300 agents, including those in Canada, could be part of the celebration.
The company, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, received the accolade for International Trade, having successfully brought its business model to overseas markets in Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia, Canada (where they launched in 2008), Dubai and most recently Belgium, where the company expanded earlier this year.
The award also follows Travel Counsellors being the first, and so far the only, travel agency to receive the Queen’s Award for Innovation in the UK in 2003, which recognized the company’s concept of enabling travel professionals to work from home while supporting them from the company’s U.K. head office.
