Friesen Travel Group triples Sudbury footprint with Expedia Cruises flagship

Friesen Travel Group has nearly tripled its footprint in Sudbury, ON, opening a new flagship facility that the company says is now the largest storefront in the Expedia Cruises franchise network.

According to a press release that was shared on LinkedIn, the travel agency group, which operates 18 locations under the Expedia Cruises banner, has moved its Sudbury operations into a 3,200-square-foot facility at 900 Lasalle Blvd., directly beside its former office.

The expansion comes after 13 years of growing booking demand and team growth in the market. The agency's previous Sudbury location spanned 1,100 square feet.

"Hats off to the amazing Sudbury team—they wore out the old space," said Shawn Friesen, president of Friesen Travel Group, in a statement. "In order for our team to continue helping our amazing clients create memories by booking trips around the world, they needed more space."

More room for clients, advisors & events

Designed as a travel hub for local clients and groups, the new facility includes a larger sales floor that can accommodate presentations, ship launch events and group travel nights.

The location also features nine dedicated consultant desks for personalized vacation planning appointments, as well as an executive boardroom geared toward coordinating group departures, family reunions and corporate retreats.

Friesen Travel Group has also incorporated an advanced advisor training lab into the facility, providing dedicated space to train, mentor and support its expanding team of travel consultants.
