Nexion Travel Group has named its 2024 member award winners – and there are Canadians travel advisors on the list.

The winners were announced at the company’s CoNexion conference, held this year from September 9-11 in New Orleans. Here, Nexion recognized some of its top members with awards for various achievements throughout the year.

“Every one of these members has caught the attention of our Nexion team for their outstanding customer service, support of our supplier partners and encouragement of their fellow members,” stated Jackie Friedman, VTA, CTIE, president of Nexion, in a press release. “It’s a strong group this year—the ‘class of 2024’ winners represent some of the best in the industry.”

Helayne Hauw was named the 2024 recipient of Nexion Travel Group’s Ambassador Award, the highest honour given to a member who exemplifies success, involvement and dedication to Nexion’s values and preferred suppliers.

Hauw, from Ajax, ON, was praised for her visibility among suppliers and members, both in person and on social media. She's known for her non-judgmental, helpful attitude and her positive presence.

This year, she even travelled to Antarctica with a preferred supplier, sharing inspiring content along the way.

This year, two Rising Star Awards were presented, one of which went to Lisa Dunne of Dunnville, ON, who was named a Canadian Rising Star (April Marshall of Lubbock, Texas, was the U.S.-based Rising Star).

Chosen by Nexion’s leadership team for their impressive achievements despite being newer travel advisors, both members have demonstrated significant potential to excel within Nexion and the industry, the company said.

They have both actively utilized Nexion’s programs and educational services to boost sales through preferred partners and to enhance their client service.

Another Canadian who received accolades was Bernadette Parrott of Quesnel, BC, who won the “Ray of Positivity” award for consistently maintaining a positive outlook, being exceptionally helpful to fellow Nexion members and supplier partners, and naturally promoting Nexion whenever the opportunity arises.
