Akkiratourz facing TICO charges

According to TICO, Toronto-based Akkiratourz Ltd. and director Gukadharsini Packiyanathan were each charged with six counts of failing to hold money in trust and failing to deposit customer funds into the trust account, contrary to the Travel Indsutry Act.

Akkiratourz was registered as a travel agent and operated in Toronto and elsewhere in Ontario. It voluntarily terminated its registration effective May 12, 2016, TICO said.

The first court appearance in the above matter is scheduled for Sept. 14, 2017 at 9 a.m. at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Offences Court, located at 70 Center Avenue, Toronto.
