Unifor, Air Canada reach tentative deal for airport, call centre agents
Air Canada has reached a tentative collective agreement with Unifor, which represents approximately 6,000 employees across the airline.
The agreement covers contact centre, customer relations, concierge, airport in-terminal and customer journey management employees at Air Canada.
Terms of the tentative agreement will remain confidential until a ratification vote by Unifor members is complete.
That vote is expected to take place over the next month.
The agreement also requires approval by Air Canada’s Board of Directors.
The update follows the start of collective bargaining in January for Unifor Local 2002 members who work at Air Canada locations across the country, including airports and call centres.
According to Air Canada, the tentative deal recognizes the contributions and professionalism of its frontline airport and customer service agents while providing a framework for the airline’s future growth.
