Colombia is a true paradise for nature lovers, with a diversity of landscapes. The snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta offer panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, while the lush jungle of the Amazon is home to incredible biodiversity, including monkeys, jaguars and parrots.

The beaches of the Caribbean coast, such as those of Cartagena and Tayrona, are famous for their crystal-clear waters and colourful coral reefs, offering visitors the opportunity to relax and enjoy the sun. To the south, Los Nevados National Park is home to towering volcanoes and deep blue lagoons, offering endless opportunities for hiking and exploring.

Colourful festivals, such as the Barranquilla Carnival and the Floración Festival in Medellín, offer visitors the opportunity to experience the joie de vivre and contagious energy of the Colombian people.

Colombian gastronomy

Colombian cuisine is as diverse as the country itself, with a variety of delicious dishes that reflect the different regions and cultures of the country. Tropical fruits, such as papaya, mango and pineapple, are abundant in Colombia and are often served fresh or as refreshing juices.

Colombia’s national dish is bandeja paisa, a hearty feast of grilled meat, rice, beans, plantain, avocado and fried egg. Arepas, grilled corn patties, are a staple of Colombian cuisine and are often accompanied by cheese, meat or guacamole.

Seafood is also very popular in Colombia, with dishes like ceviche, shrimp empanadas and fried fish. Coastal regions in particular offer an abundance of fresh seafood, crab, lobster and shellfish, often prepared with local spices and tasty sauces.
