Dream tour in Hawaii: A tropical paradise in the heart of the Pacific Ocean
Hawaii is a dream destination for travellers from around the world. Made up of eight main islands, each offering its own unique charm and attractions, Hawaii is renowned for its white sandy beaches, spectacular volcanic landscapes, rich Polynesian culture and colourful marine life. In this article, I’ll share my experience and explore some of the best places to visit in Hawaii, highlighting the natural beauty of these enchanted islands and the unforgettable experiences they offer to visitors.
Let yourself be seduced by the enchanting charm of Hawaii and discover its hidden treasures, just as I had the privilege to do.
Oahu
During my stay in Oahu, the third largest island in Hawaii, I discovered why it is often considered the epicenter of the state. Home to the capital, Honolulu, as well as many popular tourist attractions, Oahu has so much to offer. I visited the famous Waikiki Beach, with its turquoise waters and golden sand, as well as the Pearl Harbor Memorial, which commemorates the 1941 Japanese attack. Exploring Diamond Head, an iconic volcanic crater with panoramic views of the island, was a memorable experience. I also discovered Hawaiian culture at the Bishop Museum.
Maui
Maui, nicknamed "the magic island," enchanted me with its spectacular scenery, world-famous beaches and relaxed atmosphere. I travelled the scenic route of Hana, winding around steep cliffs, picturesque waterfalls and lush rainforests. Snorkeling at Molokini, an underwater crater home to diverse marine life, was a highlight of my trip. Haleakalā National Park, with its impressive volcanic crater and breathtaking views, is another iconic place I had the chance to visit.
Hawaii (Big Island)
Hawaii, often called "Big Island" to distinguish it from the state, is the largest and most diverse of the Hawaiian islands. I explored Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, where I could safely observe ongoing volcanic activity, including from Kilauea Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Visiting Mauna Kea, the highest mountain in the state, gave me stunning views of the stars from its world-renowned astronomical observatory. The black-sand beaches of Punalu'u and the green sand of Papakōlea are other unique attractions that I was able to discover.
Kauai
Nicknamed the "garden island," Kauai is famous for its lush landscapes, spectacular cliffs and breathtaking waterfalls. I explored the Waimea Canyon, nicknamed the "Pacific Grand Canyon," and sailed along the coast of Na Pali, with its steep cliffs and sea caves. Poipu’s golden sand beach was a great place to relax and soak up the sun, while Wailua River State Park offered me opportunities for hiking, kayaking and exploring Hawaiian culture.
Molokai
Molokai, often called "the forgotten island," impressed me with its preserved Hawaiian authenticity and peaceful ambience. I explored the steep cliffs of the Kalaupapa Peninsula, an ancient leprosarium site accessible only by boat or by a spectacular hiking trail. Papohaku Beach, one of the longest white-sand beaches in Hawaii, is a great place to relax and enjoy the island’s unspoiled natural surroundings.
Lanai
Lanai, once known for its pineapple plantations, Lanai is now a haven of peace, with secluded beaches, scenic hiking trails and a tranquil atmosphere. I explored the lush Garden of the Gods, discovered the historical remains of the abandoned town of Keomoku and relaxed on the unspoiled beaches of Hulopoe Bay.
